The Sealink Promotional Company Ltd (SPCL) is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement established for the purpose of promoting the development of a regional sealink company that would be private sector driven.
The role of the Sealink Promotional Company Ltd (SPCL) is essentially to raise funding of US$1.5 million from donors, development partners and private sector stakeholders for the promotional activities of the proposed regional sealink project. The funds to be raised would be utilised to cover all the costs relating to the promotional activities of Sealink Promotional Company Ltd (SPCL) under the following scope of work, among others:
Setup and operate modest efficient offices in the country of incorporation or other location as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors;
Select a management team capable of directing and achieving the goals of the SPCL
Identify the Technical Partner for the proposed Regional Maritime Shipping Company (RMSC)
Incorporate RMSC and attract investors and funding.
This is against the background of excessive transit time and lack of adequate transportation infrastructure among states in West Africa and Central Africa, which makes cost of cross border trade and movement quite prohibitive that have become barriers to regional integration, improved trade flows and free movement of goods, people and services.
